TESTING YOUR SYSTEM! It IS vitally important for you to test your security system regularly! We suggest that you schedule this on a monthly basis and:

  • If you have repairs performed on your phone service.
  • If you change your phone service carrier.
  • If you have repair/replacement work performed on your doors or windows.
  • After an electrical storm has passed.

It’s a simpler process than you might think.

All of the systems that Allen Security has ever installed have included either or both a “walk-test” and/or “chime” feature.To test your detection devices, simply turn one of these features on and open the point (door or window) and assure that the point is activating the control; usually a “beep” will confirm this.

To test your alarm monitoring: Call the monitoring station and put your account on test. Intentionally activate your alarm. This can be either an audible alarm or silent alarm. Call the monitoring station and confirm receipt of the alarm, then be sure to inform them that testing is complete and the account should be returned to active status. That’s it, you’re done!
